Empty Cartridge Recycling Program

Our top fundraising program has been in place for almost ten years.  Hundreds of schools are collecting empty inkjet and laser printer cartridges from home, school, parents’ work, local businesses and partner industries.  Each school year, between $40,000 and $50,000 is earned by area schools while many tons of cartridges are kept out of our landfills.  We meet or beat all competitors pricing for the cartridges you collect.  Cartridges are sold to recyclers who remanufacture and refill these cartridges for further use.  Since these cartridges go to many different recyclers, we are constantly working to get you the top dollar for your empties.

Over the years we have sent empty cartridges to dozens of overseas countries such as Japan, Australia, Brazil, England, Canada & Hong Kong.  Now most of your cartridges are being refilled in the the US including many by local companies.

One of the most popular things about the School Cartridge Recycling Program is that we are local and personally stop out and pick up your empty cartridges, giving you a check on the spot.  This is nice as you do not have to wait for weeks and sometimes months for the out of town programs to “process” your empties you send in and decide which ones are good enough to pay for.

Out of town schools can now send us their empty inkjet cartridges for quick payment and we even reimburse for the postage.  We are accepting all inkjets with a printhead (sorry no Epson, Canon or HP inktanks) both OEM and recycled.  We ask that you send a minimum of 20 in a box and we will make sure your check is sent within 72 hours of receipt.  Cartridge prices range from 25 cents to $4.00 each and we will do our best to pay you the most possible.  Some of the more popular cartridges are HP 20, 28 & 57 at $2.00 each and the Canon BC05 and Lexmark 12A1990 at $4.00 each.  Please send your cartridges to School Cartridge Recycling Program 6817 Arbor LN NE Cedar Rapids, IA  52402 and be sure to list your school name and address for reimbursement.  Currently we are not accepting laser cartridges by mail.
